Janome machines use the JEF format, which includes a hoop code. The design must be assigned to a hoop your machine supports, or it won't load correctly. Getting JEF files right
Most Janome file problems come from the hoop code. A design made for a large hoop won't open properly on a machine that doesn't support it, even if the design itself is small. Tell us your model and the hoop you plan to use.
Janome MB-4 and MB-7
These compact multi-needle machines are a common first step for home businesses. Their hoops are smaller than full commercial machines, so we keep designs within the hoop and optimize color order to take advantage of the multiple needles. Large jacket backs may need to be sized down or split.

What format do Janome embroidery machines use?
